I’ve been a member of Derbyshire Scriptwriters since 2004 although I’ve been writing for some years now. I’ve written numerous short stories and poems, some of which have been published here and there and I decided to branch out into writing scripts as well because I particularly enjoy the dramatic medium. My first scriptwriting credit was ‘Without Parallel’, a theatrical short performed by Tabs Productions at the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield, as part of ‘The Chesterfield Tales’, written especially for the 800th anniversary of Chesterfield’s Market Charter. I was subsequently privileged to have a one act play, ‘Working Out’ selected for inclusion in the Pomegranate’s New Playwrights’ Festival. My short film script 'Heckle', was produced by Mediaworks Trust whilst another short film, 'Situation Vacant' with Derby Moviemakers, was awarded the Tony Rose trophy and a 4-star award at the British International Amateur Film Festival. My short screenplays 'Let No man Put Asunder' and 'Prying Eye' both reached the third round of the British Short Screenplay Competition with Kaos Films, whilst 'The Organ Grinder' was a semi-finalist at Shriekfest, as was 'Oranges and Lemons' (a retitled 'Let No man Put Asunder').

My pub theatre piece 'It's All in the Mind' is published as part of Pintsized Plays Volume 2. My short play 'Hide & Seek' was performed at Neath Little Theatre on April 20th, 2013 as one of the winners of the Sandalle Five'n Ten competition and in 2015 my short play 'The Auteur' followed suite. I also contributed to 'The Candy Girls - Tales from Trebor' with the Pomegranate Playwrights at the Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield. My one act play 'It's in the Bag' was featured in the 2014 Pomegranate Playwrights' Festival. Other work includes 'The Horrific Case of Mr. Valdemar', from a short story by Edgar Allan Poe, and 'The Devil's Bride' adapted from Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu's 'Shalken the Painter', both for Rumpus Theatre Company (www.rumpustheatrecompany.co.uk). Recently my short play 'Bunny & Claude' has been performed at the Belper Short Play Festival and Pintsized-Plays New Zealand.
